Our New Middle School Program is seeking a creative, inspired teacher who is passionate about working with middle schoolers. This position calls for a teacher who can work collaboratively to create and implement a multi-faceted curriculum that engages and honors the whole child. Previous experience with this age group is necessary as this will be your program to design.
Our school offers a unique environment for teaching and learning. Teachers have the freedom to design their own curricula and draw on many spiritual and cultural practices including anthroposophy, Waldorf, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Sufism, Native American culture, and Christianity. They work closely with Flying Deer Nature Center to incorporate nature-based learning into all aspects of the curriculum.
Mountain Road School is an independent elementary school founded in 1975. We serve students in preschool through grade six. This summer we are moving and hope to expand our programs with the goal of graduating an eighth grade in 2013.
Starting salary in upper twenties.
